About College Football Tracker

The standings tell you a team's record, but not how long its fans have been waiting.

How it is organised

Each of the ten FBS conferences has its own tracker, plus one for the independents, and this page ties them together. The conference trackers hold the detail: standings, schedules, results, box scores, weekly recaps and head-to-head records. This hub holds the view across the whole FBS, including all 138 teams ranked by how long since they last won.

How the counter works

The number counts calendar days between a team's most recent win and today. A team that won yesterday reads 1. A team that won earlier today reads 0. Regular season, conference championship, bowl and playoff wins all count. If a team has not won yet this season, the count reaches back into previous seasons to find its last one, which is why numbers can run into the hundreds in September.

The longer waits

Each team page also counts the days since its last bowl or playoff win, looking back as far as the 2001 season, and since its last national title. National titles are counted from the 1998 season, when the BCS began, through the College Football Playoff era. Championships from before then are not counted, so a school whose last title came earlier is described as having none since 1998.

How often it updates

While games are in progress, scores refresh about once a minute. On game days, which in college football means most Saturdays and plenty of weeknights, everything refreshes every five minutes, and every thirty minutes otherwise. A finished game updates the score, the record, the standings order and the drought counter at the same time.

Where the data comes from

Scores, schedules, box scores, conference standings and the AP Top 25 all come from ESPN's public college football data. Standings follow ESPN's conference order, which applies each conference's tiebreakers, rather than a simple win percentage sort. Kickoff times are shown in local time at the stadium.
